OPTIMAL DISCRETE STRUCTURES AND ALGORITHMS (ODSA 2010)

Dear participants,

we would like to thank you for your registration to our conference. Below you 
will find some final information.

CONFERENCE OFFICE ON SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 12:
The conference office will be located in the restaurant "Genesis", 
Gerhart-Hauptmann-Straße 13.  From the main railway station ("Hauptbahnhof"), 
you can reach the restaurant by leaving through the main exit towards the centre.

Cross the main road at the sole traffic light, and the restaurant is in the 
orange building directly at the street corner. The conference office will be 
open from 16.00h to 22.00h.

There, you will receive the conference materials. The restaurant is also 
intended to be a meeting point for conference participants, and presents itself 
as a good location for dinner.

CONFERENCE OFFICE FROM MONDAY TO WEDNESDAY:
On these days, the office will be located in Ulmenstrasse 69, Haus 3, Room 129. 
It will open on Monday at 8am.

PROGRAM:
All sessions of the conference will take place in Ulmenstrasse 69, Haus 3.
The program booklet containing schedule and abstracts is also available on the 
conference web site. Please note that the 50 minutes slots for invited talks and 
the 25 minutes slots for contributed talks also include time for a brief 
discussion of about 5 minutes.

REGISTRATION FEE:
Please pay the registration fee at the conference office when receiving the 
materials. The fee is EUR 50 for regular participants and EUR 35 for students.

PROCEEDINGS:
There will be a Special Issue of "Discrete Applied Mathematics" with 
contributions from conference participants. The submission requirements and the 
refereeing process are as usual. The deadline for submission is
                 October 31, 2010.
Submissions during the conference are very welcome.

HOW TO GET TO ROSTOCK/ACCOMMODATION:
Please see the conference web site for more information.

PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION IN ROSTOCK:
The Rostock public transport system consists of trams, busses, and S-Bahn (local 
train). The same ticket is valid for all of them. The price for a one-way single 
ticket is EUR 1.70 (valid in the relatively large central part of Rostock), and 
a ticket for the entire day "Tageskarte" is EUR 4.50. Taking the S-Bahn from the 
main station to the conference location Parkstrasse is only one stop, and a 
"Kurzstrecke" for EUR 1.40 is sufficient. Tickets may be purchased at many 
vending machines and certain kiosks.

HOW TO REACH THE CONFERENCE LOCATION
All sessions of the conference will take place in Ulmenstrasse 69, Haus 3. This 
building houses the math department, and is a different building  from the one 
you may be used to from previous conferences in Rostock. The building is a 
little distance away from the road, overlooking the campus green. Haus 3 is the 
large red brick building *without* large trees in front of it.

BY CAR:
There is plenty of free parking on campus. Enter the campus from Ulmenstrasse 
and go passed Haus 3 along the campus green. Parking is at the end of this road.

BY PUBLIC TRANSPORT:

:: From Haltestelle Parkstrasse - walk diagonally onto the university campus, 
and cross the campus green.

:: From Haltestelle Saarplatz - Go along Ulmenstrasse until you reach the campus 
on your left. The campus green is behind the large red brick building (Haus 1) 
you see from the road.

:: From Doberaner Strasse, Haltestelle Kabutzenhof - Follow Doberaner Strasse 
towards the centre and turn right into the Budapester Strasse. Follow it until 
you reach Ulmenstrasse.

:: From Doberaner Platz - Follow Wismarsche Strasse until Saarplatz, then turn 
right into Ulmenstrasse.

:: From Hauptbahnhof/Intercity Hotel we suggest to take the S-Bahn one stop to 
Parkstrasse (direction Warnemuende) and walk from there.

:: From Ibis Hotel, walk to Doberaner Strasse and then further to Ulmenstrasse.


MEALS:
You can enjoy lunch and dinner in one of the many restaurants in downtown 
Rostock, or use the university cafeteria within two minutes of the conference 
location for lunch. You will find directions in the conference materials. We 
suggest "Genesis" (see above) for dinner on Sunday. The conference dinner on 
Monday will take place on board of a river boat.
